“Mishmoush and Friends” is a no-kill cat shelter located in Damascus, Syria. This project was conceived after a failed attempt to find good homes for Safroota and her litter of kittens. The solution was to start a shelter/sanctuary that servers as home for cats in need of one and as center catering for people seeking to adopt cats.

 

Sadly, successful adoptions are rare for many reasons, chief among them are cultural misconceptions and people’s inability to afford the cost of owning cats.

 

Our focus is to rehabilitate cats in need of rescue and place them in an ideal habitat. A place where they can play, socialize, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the mild weather, and most importantly be safe from hunger and abuse. We are very keen on meeting space requirements and hygiene standards.

 

The existence of this project depends entirely on donations made by visitors to this website and to the shelter itself.
